Winchester, a quiet Cathedral City and country town, is steeped in history from 450 BC and since that time great Kings and Bishops have left lasting reminders of their influence. During Saxon times Winchester was the capital of England and the city had Royal connections for centuries afterwards. The City's fascinating past is apparent in every street and it's buildings are a reminder of it's intrinsic history and great beauty.
