The City's fascinating past is apparent in every street and it's buildings are a reminder of it's intrinsic history and great beauty. Today its amenities include a host of interesting shops and markets, museums, galleries and theatre, cinema and its many public houses, cafes and bistros and varied restaurants.

Winchester Cathedral

Fifteen centuries of English history lie behind the massive Cathedral you see today. It stands at the heart of historic Winchester, once the seat of Anglo-Saxon and Norman royal power, on the site of an early Christian church. It’s been a place of worship ever since.  The magnificent Winchester Cathedral has the longest Medieval Nave in Europe and burial place of Jane Austen.
